"Reine Schurwolle" ist vom lebenden Schaf geschoren, erstmals verarbeitet und hat hervorragende Materialeigenschaften bzgl. Aussehen, Haltbarkeit, Gesundheitswert und Pflege. Im Gegensatz zu "Reiner Wolle", "Wolle" oder "Reisswolle", die als wiederverarbeitete Wolle eine geringere Haltbarkeit aufweist sowie als qualitativ minderwertiger einzuordnen ist.
Eine hochwertige, da eine sehr feine und weiche Wolle ist Merinowolle vom Merinoschaf.
