The Story Behind Wollywood.de
Our journey began in December 1991 when Christian & Susanne Peters took over a wool shop that had been operating since 1985 in the charming Bahnhofstraße of Bad Oldesloe.
By 1998, we ventured into the digital world, creating our first online presence. Initially intended as a promotional tool, storefront photos were meant to guide knitting fans to Wollywood. Soon, however, customers began inquiring whether they could have products from the WOLLYWOOD range conveniently shipped to them.
Despite having little experience with online shops at the time, we developed the Wollywood online store after implementing an order form. What started with simple email inquiries and phone orders became an integral part of Wollywood’s daily operations.
In 2002, this success led to a special recognition: Wollywood was nominated for the German Internet Award in the category "Value-Oriented Corporate Presentation on the Internet." This achievement affirmed our direction and dedication in the evolving digital marketplace. Our top priority remained providing a reliable product range and expert consultation.
By 2012, we established a separate warehouse for shipping in the industrial district. With the help of a modern shop system and e-commerce software, we ensured faster and more sustainable deliveries, while the physical store remained in Bahnhofstraße.
In 2013, we moved our store to a central location in the marketplace of Bad Oldesloe. Since 2018, we have focused exclusively on online retail, aside from occasional warehouse sales.
Since the summer of 2021, WOLLYWOOD has been in the hands of the next generation. Manuel Peters and Anna Fries, the founders’ descendants, continue to run the business with the same passion that once inspired their parents.
