About Wollywood

Welcome to Wollywood - your premier online destination for high-quality yarn and supplies.

Our journey began in December 1991 when the wool store in the enchanting Bahnhofstraße of Bad Oldesloe was taken over by Christian & Susanne Peters.

As early as 1998, we ventured into the virtual world, creating our first online presence. Initially conceived as a pure advertising measure, the storefront photos were intended to guide knitting enthusiasts to Wollywood. Soon after, the first wool fans reached out, inquiring whether items from the WOLLYWOOD range could be conveniently shipped to them.

Despite the limited experience with online shops at the time, the Wollywood shop was born after the implementation of an order form. What started with simple email inquiries and phone orders evolved into an integral part of everyday life at Wollywood.

In 2002, something extraordinary happened: Wollywood was nominated as one of the companies for the GERMAN INTERNET AWARD in the category of "Value-Oriented Corporate Presentation on the Internet". This success affirmed our direction and commitment in this new business field. The top priority of providing reliable product quality and offering expert advice remained steadfast.

In 2012, a separate warehouse for shipping was established in the industrial area. Through the use of a modern shop system and shipping software, we were able to facilitate a more sustainable and quicker shipping process. The physical store remained in the Bahnhofstraße for the time being.

In 2013, we dared to relocate our retail space to a central location on the market square in Bad Oldesloe. Since 2018, we have been primarily focused on online commerce, with occasional warehouse sales being the only exception.

Since the summer of 2021, the responsibility for WOLLYWOOD has been passed on to the next generation. Manuel Peters and Anna Fries, the descendants of the founders, continue to run the business with the same passion that once inspired their parents.
